Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision – Joel 3:14 Decision is power and it means to make up your mind; choosing one of many options and sticking to it. Many people have great business ideas, but will never choose one to pursue until all gets obsolete. Many have great potentials but choosing which one to market takes them forever. Many young ladies have 2, 3 or more suitors but will never make up their minds until all the guys are gone. Like the case of Kate who decided to stay close to the 4 guys who proposed to her without a definite ‘yes’ to any of them. In her comment she said, “I don’t want to leave Val (1st guy) because he can pay the bills; I like Pius (2nd guy) because he makes me feel like a treasure; I love to be around Mark (3rd guy) because he loves God and I kept thinking of Julius (4th guy) because he has time for me”. Many young ladies and men continue like that in the valley of decision until all the virtuous men and ladies exit their lives. Decide on time. Indecision is a plague. It leads only to frustration and devastation. A wise man said, ‘Indecision is the graveyard of good intentions.’ Even God hates the indecisive; that’s why He said in Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm – neither cold nor hot – I am about to spit you out of My mouth. They are here and yet love to also be there – that is indecision. He said, ‘I will spit you out.’ Everyone avoids the indecisive. God’s problem with lukewarm Christians is indecision. You can’t be one leg here and one leg there and be acceptable to both places. Goals are not enough, you must make quality decisions. Calling is not enough; you must make up your mind on certain things. Jesus explains this subject in Luke 9:62, No one who put his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God. Nothing good fits an indecisive person. Indecision is a disqualification in life. If you won’t take up the plow, then don’t; if you will, then pick it. Don’t be here and then be looking there. Decisive men don’t look back. A wise man said: ‘Decision is the great seed of distinction.’ Decision provokes determination and determination energizes vision.
