DID ATONEMENT HAPPEN IN 1844 OR WAS SATAN THROWN DOWN IN 1914?

There are teachings that say ATONEMENT happened in 1844 despite the LAMB of YHWH in the year of DEATH being offered while some teach that SATAN has been having access to heaven even after the Master ascended to heaven to the year 1914 when he was thrown down from heaven to the earth and caused WORLD WAR during this same year. Is this TRUE? What do scriptures say? 1. ATONEMENT This never happened in 1844 in heaven as some teach. For us to understand and know what really happened we must learn about the DAY of ATONEMENT in the first covenant which pointed to the DAY of ATONEMENT by the LAMB of YHWH. “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;…” Hebrews 9:24-28 What is Atonement? It is reconciliation, the process by which YHWH and man can be once again become reconciled. Read Exodus 32:30, Leviticus 9:7, Leviticus 16 and Romans 5:11. The day that atonement was made for the sins of Israel is called the Day of Atonement. It was observed on the 10th day of the 7th month (Tisri). On this appointed day, the High Priest would enter within the holy of holies to appear before YHWH with blood of sacrifices and sprinkle its blood upon the mercy seat of the ark. Read Leviticus 16, Leviticus 23:27-32 & Leviticus 25:9. It should be a memorial for all truly born again and sanctified believers. The Messiah entered into the holy of holies to make atonement for us at an appointed time and season i.e. on the 10th day of the seventh month of the same year of His Death and Resurrection. “And the LORD spake unto Moses, Saying, Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: It shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God…” Leviticus 23:26-31 “It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.” Leviticus 23:32 “And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein.” Numbers 29:7 The rituals and sacrifices of this festival are found in the whole chapter of Leviticus 16. “And this shall be a statute forever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. It shall be a Sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute forever.”Leviticus 16:29-31 The following should be observed on the Day of Atonement: (a) Ye shall afflict your souls. No manner of instruments should be heard in the congregation. (b) Ye shall do no work at all. It shall be a Sabbath of rest. (c) Holy convocation unto you. It shall be a statute forever. Atonement was made that the children of Israel might be clean from all their sins before the MASTER. “And the priest, whom He shall anoint, and….. And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.” Leviticus 16:32-33 The priest would make atonement once a year for the following: (a) Holy Sanctuary (b) Tabernacle of the congregation. (c) Altar (d) Priests (e) All the people of the congregation. “And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.” Lev 16:34 This atonement once a year at an appointed time and season of the year pointed to that which the Messiah would make at the same appointed time and season. Hebrews 9:23-28 & Malachi 3:1-5 The Messiah offered up Himself for our sins once. Hebrews 7:27-28; 4:14
He is a minister of the Sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Master pitched, and not man. Read Hebrews 8:2-3 & Daniel 8:13-14. Our minds should by faith be directed to the heavenly Sanctuary of which the earthly was a mere pattern. The Messiah entered into the heavenly Sanctuary to make atonement for us. “Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, see, Saith He, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.” Hebrews 8:5 Read Hebrews 9:1-10, 13-15, 22 & Hebrews 10:1-3. The Messiah made atonement for us once in the heavenly Sanctuary at the appointed season. “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;…” Hebrews 9:24-28 “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God. From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.
For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.” Hebrews 10:10-14 The Messiah made atonement for us once and for all, and is now sat on the right hand of YHWH till His enemies are made His footstool. The earthly sanctuary with its offerings of the blood of animal sacrifices was a shadow of the heavenly sanctuary. Hebrews 10:4 The old sanctuary was cleansed once a year. The Messiah cleansed the heavenly sanctuary once. When the Messiah ascended into heaven after His resurrection, He (being the High Priest) made atonement for us at the appointed time in a better sanctuary. Read Hebrews 9:23-28. The Messiah as High Priest is: (a) Not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true. Hebrews 9:24 (b) Entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of YHWH for us. Hebrews 9:29 The Messiah offered Himself once. Read Hebrews 7:26-28, Hebrews 9:12 & Hebrews 9:28. He is sat on the right hand of YHWH. “But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.” Hebrews 10:12-13 2. SATAN THROWN DOWN (not in 1914) Is it true that Satan has been having access to heaven up to the year 1914 when he was thrown down from heaven? The DAY ATONEMENT shall give us further guidance. Read Leviticus 16.
“And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.” Leviticus 16:5 The animals for the offering were: (a) 2 kid of the goats – for a sin offering. (b) 1 Ram – for a burnt offering. Read Leviticus 16:6-7. From this scripture we note two important points: (a) Bullock – Aaron was to offer him for atonement for himself and his house (Leviticus 16:11-14) (b) 2 goats – Aaron was to present them before the Master at the door of the tabernacle. Casting lots upon the 2 goats Read Leviticus 16:8-11. Two points are worthy noting again: (a) One lot for the Master – offered him for a sin offering. Leviticus 16:9, 15-20 (b) The other lot for the Scapegoat – presented him alive before the Master, to make atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness. Scapegoat “And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, Putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.” Leviticus 16:21-22 The scapegoat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto the land not inhabited. Satan is the Father of all sins and lies. Satan is behind all sin and evil. Two important points should be noted from Leviticus 16:21-22: (a) The Messiah bore our sins as a sinless offering to save us from the judgment to come. Only the holy Lamb of YHWH could die in our place. He bore our sins as an acceptable offering for sin. Only the holy Son of YHWH could die to save us from death. The Messiah bore our sins by reason of His holiness and an acceptable offering to YHWH for us. By His holy blood was atonement made for us. By His death we are saved. By His blood we were reconciled to YHWH. Read Isaiah 53:4-10, Leviticus 16:9, 15-20. (b) Not only did the Messiah bear our sins as typified by the scapegoat which was sent away by hand of a fit man into the wilderness but the Messiah also defeated Satan by His blood as the Lamb of YHWH and the Word. Therefore, Satan was thrown out of heaven only after the resurrection of the Messiah for the blood of the Master was necessary to defeat Satan. PLACE OF ATONEMENT Atonement was done in the most holy place where the presence of YHWH was.
The Son of YHWH, as a High Priest, entered into the most holy place for atonement of our sins. “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:” Hebrews 9:24 The Messiah, after ascension, entered into the most holy place to appear before the mercy seat of YHWH. YHWH’s presence was on the mercy seat in the most holy place. That is where the presence of YHWH was. It was not in the holy place. Two Goats 1. One was killed on the Day of Atonement for its blood to be offered. This sacrifice represented the Lamb of YHWH. The Messiah as Lamb of YHWH bore sins of the whole world. Read Isaiah 53:6, 11, Leviticus 16:15 & Hebrews 9:28; 10:14 2. The other, scapegoat, was not killed but was taken to a land not inhabited. This typified the Lamb of YHWH taking away sin and also defeating Satan through the blood since He (Messiah) bore our sins in His body. On the Day of Atonement, the blood of the lamb was offered, and the scapegoat separated from the camp into the wilderness. Similarly, when the Messiah made an atonement for our sins in the heavenly temple as a High Priest, on the Day of Atonement (10th day of the 7th month of the same year of His Death and Resurrection), Satan was no longer allowed access to heaven. He was not thrown down in 1914 or 1844. The three great annual Old Testament festivals were in the following order:
1. Passover – The Messiah died on this day. 2. Pentecost – Set-Apart Spirit received. 3. Atonement – The Son of YHWH as High Priest made atonement for our sins & Satan was thrown down to the earth in the same year. After the Messiah was impaled on the day of the Passover, it was necessary that the Set-Apart Spirit be received by the Church before Satan was thrown down to the earth after the Day of Atonement. Read John 16:8-11. “And He (the Messiah) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Luke 10:18 “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.” John 12:31 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon: and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not: neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:7-9 Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. They overcame Satan by the blood of the sacrificed lamb. Revelation 12:11 The dragon was thrown down during or after the Day of Atonement, after the Messiah ascended into heaven. Read Revelation 12:5, 12-13. The Day of Atonement happened the same year of the Messiah’s death and resurrection. The following are the three great annual festivals in their order of occurrence in a year: 1. PASSOVER 2. PENTECOST 3. ATONEMENT They are YHWH’s. They are not man made. Read Leviticus 23:1-3. “These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons” Leviticus 23:4 These festivals belong to YHWH and must be proclaimed at their appointed times and seasons. These were yearly festivals that were proclaimed at YHWH’s appointed times. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Three great events happened on these great festivals as follows: 1. Passover: Yehoshua the Messiah was impaled i.e. He paid the penalty of our sins. He died on our behalf to save us. The Master’s Supper was ordained on the same day before His death. It was appointed that He would be impaled on this day. 2. Pentecost: The Church (120 believers) in the Upper room received the Set-Apart Spirit and became the Messiah’s true witnesses. It was appointed that the Set-Apart Spirit would be sent on this day. The Master knew it. Acts 1:8; 2:1-4 3. Atonement: Yehoshua entered into holy of holies in the heavenly temple and offered His blood on our behalf as atonement for our sins on the Day of Atonement. It was appointed in YHWH’s time that the High Priest the Messiah would make atonement in heaven on this day. Lev_17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
