What is your view of God? Do you see Him as some supreme being sitting ona throne waiting for you to make a mistake? Do you feel like He is ‘up there somewhere’ watching and waiting, sure that He will sleep sometime, then you can do and say what you like? God is a God of love, grace, and understanding. He is not sitting on His throne waiting for us to sin. He knows we sin, or have sinned, because He knows we are human, so why would He sit around waiting to ‘drop a gavel on us.’ Instead, He gave us His Son to die in our place for our sin, and to give us the way to return to His grace, mercy, and salvation. He is also omnipotent and omnipresent. There is not a time when he sleeps, and there is not a place He does not see into. There is no hiding from God. He hears and sees us in the light and in the dark. He hears every prayer from every person around the world at the same time if needed. HE IS EVERYWHERE! “23 ‘Am I a God near at hand,’ says the Lord, ‘And not a God afar off? 24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So shall I not see him?’ says the Lord; ‘Do I not fill heaven and earth?’ says the Lord.” Jeremiah 23: 23 – 24 (NKJV) Christ tells us throughout His ministry that God is a God of love and forgiveness. He shows us God’s grace and mercy in everything He said and did. He tells us how easy it is for us to have a relationship with Him, to know God personally. Christ’s time on earth was not just to tell us how to gain salvation, but also to show us the person of God,the true ‘person’ of God. Christ shows us the ‘being’ of our Heavenly Father. When we see Christ,We see God. So why would anyone see God as some ‘supreme being’, sitting on a throne, waiting for us to make a mistake? When Christ encountered ‘sinners’, He did not comdemn, He forgave! This is the message we need to spread to the world! He is everywhere, and we need to praise Him for that fact. Can you imagine a life where He wasn’t?
