ACCURATELY RECORDED BUT NOT TRUE. JOB 1:20 – Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. THE LORD GAVE, and THE LORD HAS TAKEN AWAY; Blessed be the name of the LORD.” Job made that statement after a series of tragedies that caused him to lose all his children and property. However, when you read the preceding scriptures you will notice that the losses he incurred where not caused by God but by satan. Job was ignorant of the existence of satan! There were no Bibles during Job’s time so he did not have the privilege of reading the scriptures to know that satan was the one behind his woes. Because of that statement many people [sincerely but also ignorantly] view God as a “giver” and also as a ‘taker”. Some people even refer to natural disasters as “acts of God”! Don’t confuse or mix up the job descriptions of God and satan. God is a giver but satan is the thief. JOHN 10:10 – “The thief [satan] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [Jesus Christ – sent by God the Father] have come that they [humanity] may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
