MARRIAGE

In life, one of the most important choice you will need to make is who to marry. This
choice is so important that if you miss it, you will suffer for long, if you get it right
then you will enjoy forever.
A bad marriage can affect every other area of your life. This subject is so important to the
extent that so many married people are hoping to be single again so as to be able
to make the right choice all over again. If you are single please don’t just be in a
hurry to get married, because you still have the best opportunity to prepare for it.
For two people to come together to live in peace and harmony, they must agree
spiritually, mentally and physically. Just like an elephant cannot marry an ant so also a believer cannot marry an unbeliever. If an elephant marries an ant how
would they live, if a goat marries a fish where would they meet?
You must look for a sincere and righteous man or a sincere and righteous woman
to marry, nothing can beat this. The devil’s primary target is the family. He knows
that everyone belongs to a family and if he can bring two wrong people together in
marriage, then he will succeed in destroying your relationship with God, breaking the community ties and the nation down as a whole, and this is part of what we’re
witnessing all over the world presently.
Ignore your age and the pressure for a moment, the pressure in a wrong marriage
is far worse. God has somebody for you but you must set your priorities right. What
do you need in a woman? What do you need in a man?
Marriage is not about what you want, it is about who you need, that will make you better while you make him better, it’s not something you just jump into. That is why
you must know your purpose before you get married. You must pray before you
choose.
God knows the best person for you, it is only wise to seek His will. It is very easy to
know God’s will when fornication is not involved. The moment fornication is
involved and you want to know His will then He will blank you out. Why? Because you have broken His Law that says flee fornication. If you had been guilty in that
area in the past then you need to repent totally and stay away from each other,
then you can seek forgiveness from God. Your marriage will not be hell on earth.
Your marriage will be honourable.
Don’t marry for sex, don’t marry because you are of age, don’t marry because you
are getting old, don’t marry because you are lonely, don’t marry because you need someone to support you financially, don’t marry because you mistakenly got
pregnant, don’t marry because you don’t want to lose the person, don’t marry
because of family pressures, don’t marry because you like the idea of marriage and
admire every wedding gown you see, don’t marry because all your friends are
getting married.
But get married because you want to fulfill what God has ordained on every one of His. Get married because you want to be a help mate, but most of all, because you
want to fulfil a purpose of making heaven. God will help you in
choosing, please let’s all continue to pray fervently to God for all we want.

EIGHT THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN THINGS GO WRONG

1. *Pain is part of growing*
Sometimes life closes doors because it’s time to move forward. And that’s a good
thing because we often won’t move unless circumstances force us to. When times
are tough, remind yourself that no pain comes without a purpose.
Ecclesiastes 11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
2. *Everything in life is temporary*
After darkness there is always light – you are reminded of this every morning, but
still you often forget, and instead choose to believe that the night will last forever.
It won’t. Nothing lasts forever. So if things are good right now, enjoy it. It won’t last
forever. If things are bad, don’t worry because it won’t last forever either. Psalms 30:5…part B, n c… in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but
joy cometh in the morning.
3. *Worrying and complaining changes nothing*
Those who complain the most, accomplish the least. It’s always better to attempt
to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed.
4. *Your scars are symbols of your strength* Don’t ever be ashamed of the scars life has left you with. A scar means the hurt is
over and the wound is closed. It means you conquered the pain, learned a lesson,
grew stronger, and moved forward.
5. *Every little struggle is a step forward*
In life, patience is not about waiting; it’s the ability to keep a good attitude while
working hard on your dreams, knowing that the work is worth it. So if you’re going to try, put in the time and go all the way. Otherwise, there’s no point in starting.
6. *Other people’s negativity is not your problem*
Be positive when negativity surrounds you. Smile when others try to bring you
down. It’s an easy way to maintain your enthusiasm and focus. When other people
treat you poorly, keep being you. Don’t ever let someone else’s bitterness change
the person you are. 7. *What’s meant to be will eventually, BE*
You can’t force things to happen. You can only drive yourself crazy trying. At some
point you have to let go and let what’s meant to be, BE. In the end, loving your life
is about trusting your intuition, taking chances, losing and finding happiness,
cherishing the memories, and learning through experience. It’s a long-term
journey. 8. *The best thing you can do is to keep going*
Don’t be afraid to get back up. Don’t be afraid to love again. Don’t let the cracks in
your heart turn to hardened scar tissue. Find the strength to laugh every day. Find
the courage to feel different, yet beautiful. Find it in your heart to make others
smile too.
Blessings unto you child of God…

ABSTAINING FROM ALL APPEARANCE OF EVIL

To effectively deal with this topic, we will need to explain the word Abstinence, as
well as what we mean by the ” appearance of evil ”
Abstinence is synonymous with self denial, temperance or sobriety. According to
Merriam Webster Dictionary, it is the practice of not doing or having something that
is wanted or enjoyable. The Bible says in Apostle Paul’s letter to the Christians at Thessalonica:
1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
[22] Abstain from all appearance of evil.
What then is an appearance of evil? An appearance of evil therefore is anything
that is tainted with evil. It is anything that is disguised with evil which may not
necessarily present initially as sin but is capable of leading one into sin. It is evil masquerading itself in deception through different forms and kinds.
With these definitions in view, we will move on to deliberate further on the
message.
Before we attempt to discuss why we will need to abstain, let us first of all look at
some examples of the appearance of evil.
1. Joseph and Potiphar’s wife: When Potiphar’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and desired to sleep with him, he refused saying that he could not do such a wicked
thing against his master and God. Eventually when she caught Joseph by his
garment desiring to lie with him, Joseph fled and got out of that environment.
( Gen. 39: 1-12 ).
That was an appearance of evil. Imagine if Joseph did not flee from the room but
stayed back to resist the woman, that in itself is not a sin but he may have succumbed to the strong persuasion and overtures of the woman which would
have resulted in adultery. Thank God that Joseph obeyed the scriptures and the
voice of the Holy Spirit and abstained from this appearance of evil.
2. David and Uriah’s wife: The scriptures have it on record that King David rather
than go to war, at a time when kings go forth to battle, he sent his men while he
tarried in Jerusalem. As a result, as he strolled on the roof top of his house, his eyes caught the sight of a naked woman by name Bath-Sheba, taking her bath and
who was very beautiful to look upon. ( 2 Sam. 11:1-5 ). Rather than deliberately
avoid looking again, he continued to look and hence conceived lust in his heart,
which led to his sending for the woman and sleeping with her. This case is the
opposite of what we saw in example 1 above. It was not sin when David’s eye first
caught a glimpse of the naked woman as that was accidental. What he should have done was to realise that, that scene was an appearance of evil and abstain
by not looking again. If he had done that, the resulting sin of adultery and killing of
Uriah would not have been committed.
We can go on and on by giving so many real life examples of this nature but time
and space will not permit. You will therefore need to think out the other real life
examples by yourself to learn the lessons therein. A striking example is a brother who visits his fiancée who leaves alone and stays out late into the night with her
alone in the room under the pretext of praying together. That is a bubble waiting to
burst one day, as the likelihood of their committing fornication is very high. Another
example is a pastor who is fond of borrowing money from the church collections
each Sunday to meet family needs with the promise to repay when his allowance is
paid. He may find himself unable to repay when the debt accumulates which will lead him to manipulate the accounts of the church with a view to hide his
malfeasance.
Finally, we need to abstain from all appearances of evil, as it can lead to
committing the actual sin. Another reason is for the sake of the gospel, so that the
ministry be not blamed and reproached before unbelievers. ( 2 Cor. 6:3 )
Be blessed as you read, comment, like and share to bless others with this message.

LIVING A LIFE OF PURPOSE

Life is all about influence! It is not all about affluence!
It is about touching and transforming lives eternally for Christ. It is not about
showcasing wealth before men for vain glory. Life is about praying for the pupils,
the teenagers and the young adults until Christ is formed within them; it is about
showing the love of Christ to the unsaved by lovingly pointing Christ to them first through our lives and then through the messages we preach; it is about sharing our
worldly goods to the naked, poor and hungry youths because of Christ and for the
sake of endearing Christ to them.
Life is about turning around a youth who is on the express way to hell; the wide
gate and the broad way, that leads to destruction back to the road that leads to
heaven; the strait gate and the narrow way which leads unto life eternal. Life is all about living to fulfill the purpose of God for your life. This is why you were
born and you are born again. This is what will give meaning to your life. This is
what will give value to your life.
Invest your life eternally for God’s purpose. You have only one life to live.
“Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot.” Luke 12:15 (The
Message Bible).

LISTEN…

HERE THIS
Most times, when trying to hide sin, you commit more sins. After David slept with
Uriah’s wife, he struggled to keep it from everyone and when he saw that it was
about to burst for the whole world to see, he killed Uriah by placing him in front of
the hottest battle. Such a dedicated and committed man was killed because
another man was trying to hide sin. LISTEN…
You can’t hide sin, you are only delaying the day of bursting, it will explode like a
bomb someday. Let it out, confess it and repent genuinely. Accept Jesus and never
go back to the world. The devil wants you to continue to hide that sin, but it’s killing
you gradually. You’re only pretending so that people won’t know, but underneath
that pretence is a smelling skeleton hidden from everyone else. But Jesus is calling you today to let it out and let it go. Release that skeleton and let it go forever and
Jesus will receive you unto Himself.
So the message today is: LET IT OUT, CONFESS IT AND REPENT GENUINELY;
THEN, JESUS WILL RECEIVE YOU UNTO HIMSELF.

” THE MIXED MULTITUDE “

A good way to start this exposition is to attempt to explain the phrase mixed
multitude. To do this effectively, we will look at the two words that make up this
phrase.
The word mixed means something that is made of different kinds of things that are
combined. It may include or involve people of different races or religions. On the other hand multitude refers to a great number of things or people.
With these definitions in mind we can now approach the exposition with a great
deal of understanding.
For the purposes of our exposition, the mixed multitude here refers to the mixture
of the people of other races who dwelt with the Israelites and came out together
with them from bondage in Egypt. Exodus 12:38 KJV
[38] And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even
very much cattle.
The mixed multitude were to be differentiated from God’s own people as they knew
not the Lord. Their behaviour and character were also inconsistent with the
expectations of the Almighty God. Nehemiah 13:1-3 KJV
[1] On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and
therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come
into the congregation of God for ever; [2] Because they met not the children of
Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should
curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing. [3] Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed
multitude.
Again, the mixed multitude among the Israelites were a source of temptation to
them. The scripture says that they fell a lusting. Together with the Israelites they
murmured and complained against Moses and by extension God.
Numbers 11:1-6 KJV [1] And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord : and the Lord heard it ;
and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and
consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. [2] And the people
cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord , the fire was quenched.
[3] And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt
among them. [4] And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? [5] We
remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the
melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: [6] But now our soul is dried
away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
The Lord Jesus alluded to this issue of mixed multitudes in the gospel of Matthew.
Matthew 13:25-30 KJV [25] But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and
went his way. [26] But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then
appeared the tares also. [27] So the servants of the householder came and said
unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it
tares? [28] He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto
him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? [29] But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. [30] Let both
grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,
Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but
gather the wheat into my barn.
In conclusion, our attitude as Christians should be to continually witness to these
mixed multitude until they sincerely receive Christ as Lord and personal saviour. The churches are full of them. In some instances they have even permeated the
clergy. Jesus said we should not drive them away. Our duty is to show them good
Christian example peradventure they will repent and receive Christ in sincerity.
